Stories from Oblivion: Chapter Four: LKO

For those of you who are turned on by nostalgia, Lucknow is the place to visit. This ageing city offers a near perfect blend of the historical and the contemporary, and every now and then, you will find yourself sitting at the edge of a pavement, just staring at the elder buildings impose their legacy on the younger, glassier and flashier siblings.

Also, the Lucknow you see here isn't on a tourist's itinerary, primarily because I was too caught up with work and didn't have time to go sight-seeing. So, I took pictures of places and people I happened to notice as I went about minding my own business.

And I apologise for the poor quality of the pictures, there's only that much you can get out of a cellphone camera and a limited imagination.

(Even so, you can click on the pictures if you want to see an enlarged version)

nice snaps. and you should be happy with your camera because it somehow gives the photos a touch of blur which makes them even more capable of making the viewers nostalgic, if you know what i mean.

@Art: I think it has a lot to do with our childhood, and spending hours browsing through family portraits in B&W and Sepia.

@Pri: Yay, I promise something is coming, like soon.

Lovely soulful photos. And funnily, photo No. 4 looks like what's inside the building in photo No. 3 because of the way the light is shining through the doors and windows of the building.

The only word that popped up in ze head when I saw those pictures is 'soulful.' (The vocab is clearly limited)

TS said...

@Joylita: Thanks you for the encouragement. Don't be modest. Your words talk.
